Kirsten
began acting at the age of three, appearing in American commercials of
which she's made more than 70 (!) Her first film role was uncredited, in
Woody Allen's New York Stories, and she also appeared in The
Bonfire of the Vanities, High Strung and Greedy before her
breakthrough performance in Interview With The Vampire. Her role as
Claudia, the ghoulish bloodsucker doomed to an eternal childhood showcased
her extraordinary acting talent and earned her a Golden Globe nomination -
at age 12! After this she played the young Amy March in Little Women and
more notably went on to Jumanji alongside Robin Williams and a
recurring guest role on ER as Charlie, a young drug-addict Dr.Ross
takes under his wing. The next few years were pretty quiet for Kirsten
despite a number of roles and it wasn't until 1998's Small Soldiers that
she came back into the mainstream; by now her beauty was very much
apparent. Her next series of film roles confirmed her amazing acting
ability and as she grew older she grew ever more beautiful: 1999 saw her
in Dick, Drop Dead Gorgeous but most notably The Virgin Suicides
in which Kirsten gives an amazingly haunting performance as Lux Lisbon.
Her lead role in 2000 cheerleader comedy Bring It On made Kirsten
the darling of the teen acting world, and she followed that with the 2001
comedy Get Over It and the unconventional drama Crazy/Beautiful.
In 2002 Kirsten turned 20 and captured her biggest role to date as
Mary-Jane Watson in the blockbuster Spider-Man, and has been
catapulted into the limelight ever since. Many people woke up to how sexy
she is (the wet t-shirt scene speaks for itself) but best of all the world
took notice of what a incredible actress she is. We can look forward to
seeing a lot more of Kirsten: she's signed on for the Spider-Man sequel,
due in 2004, and she also has three other films due out in 2003.
Kirsten is my favourite actress and not just because she's beautiful - although I do think she's the most beautiful girl I've ever seen - just watch any film that she's in and she has this strange effect of making you feel happy and good about yourself. Not only is she a talented actress but she also has the voice of an angel, as she's proved in Get Over It and The Cat's Meow. What I like most about her, however, is who she is: of the interviews I've read and the times I've seen her speaking on TV/DVD interviews etc she's always come across as an honest, friendly human being who's very down to earth. I'm aware of how sad I must come across, running a web site about a girl I'll never meet, but for me Kirsten is the girl of my dreams and I don't care if people think I'm sad for thinking this. Kirsten is a wonderfully beautiful, talented human being who I will continue to adore as long as she's around. |
